Dr Neil Bryans

Dr Neil Bryans has had a long and significant career with the Defence Science and Technology Group (DST Group), holding positions including Deputy Chief Defence Scientist, Head of DST Group Edinburgh, Chief Information Officer and Chief of Communications and Information Technology Divisions. Most recently, he was contracted by DST Group to develop the Counter Terrorism and Security Technology Centre, as its Executive Director.

Throughout his career he participated in various international cooperative activities, including as Australian National Leader and Executive Chair of the Command, Control, Communications, Computing and Information Systems Group within The Technical Cooperation Program (TTCP), which involves cooperative defence research with the UK, Canada and US and NZ. 

Neil is currently a DST Group Fellow, Adjunct Professor at the University of South Australia, Chair or Member of several advisory boards for the University of South Australia and University of Adelaide and is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers Australia.
