Naval Group Australia is building the 12 new attack class submarines for the Royal Australian Navy, to deliver regionally-superior capability and power at sea. The attack class submarine program will provide a 50-year bedrock of jobs and technological advancement, including through the new Australian supply chains that are being created to support this generational national endeavour. Naval Group has been building submarines in France for 100 years. This Australian program will deliver a transfer of world class technology and skills and dramatically boost sovereign capability. Naval Group Australia has offices at Keswick and Port Adelaide, and expects to create 1700 direct jobs during construction of the first submarine. A recently announced local manufacturing package worth almost $900 million is to be the first of many, providing powerful opportunities to partner with other businesses in the defence sector.
