Saab Australia’s primary research and engineering laboratories are located in their Adelaide headquarters, supported by satellite offices across the country. The company selects business partners from across Australian industry, subcontracting work to more than 200 local companies, keeping jobs, skills and knowledge in-country. Saab Australia is proof of the effectiveness of technology transfer and foreign investment into Australia to grow sovereign capability and provide jobs and growth.
Saab Australia and Lockheed Martin Australia are delivering the Hunter class frigate combat systems integration with Saab’s 9LV combat management system mandated across the Royal Australian Navy fleet.
The South Australian defence industry can expect strong and continued growth over the coming decades. Defence is undergoing a generational change in capability with the largest and most complex projects centred in South Australia.
