Company Overview

Century Engineering is a South Australian-owned, multi-disciplined advanced manufacturing company specialising in the manufacture of complex equipment, components and assemblies for the Defence and industrial sectors.

Century partners with Defence prime contractors, OEMs and owners of critical equipment to deliver high-quality, low-risk engineering and manufacturing solutions. With extensive in-house capability encompassing complex fabrication, precision CNC machining, Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM), blast and paint, and mechanical assembly, Century provides an integrated, turn-key manufacturing solution from its Edinburgh North facility, approximately 30 minutes north of Adelaide’s CBD.

Century’s advanced manufacturing capability includes large-format metal additive manufacturing using WAAM technology. This capability complements Century’s established fabrication and machining services and provides additional manufacturing options for new production, component replacement, repair and sustainment. WAAM offers particular potential for large or complex metallic components where reduced material waste, shorter lead times, supply-chain resilience or replacement of difficult-to-source components are important considerations.

Our experienced trades team is supported by dedicated quality, engineering and management functions, enabling Century to successfully deliver complex, multi-process and high-compliance manufacturing projects.

Century has built a proven reputation over more than 20 years supporting major Australian land and naval Defence programs. This experience also extends into the United States defence supply chain, with Century having supplied manufactured products to HII (Huntington Ingalls Industries), demonstrating our capability to support the requirements of both Australian and US Defence industry customers.

Century’s CMMC 2.0 cybersecurity accreditation further strengthens our ability to participate in the US Defence industrial base and securely support Defence programs requiring robust protection of sensitive information.

Products and Services

Century provides customers with a reduced-risk, integrated manufacturing solution for complex mechanical equipment, components and assemblies.

Our extensive in-house capabilities include:

  • Complex and high-compliance fabrication
  • Precision CNC machining
  • Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM)
  • Large-format metal additive manufacturing
  • Blast and protective coating
  • Mechanical assembly and integration
  • Build-to-print manufacturing
  • Engineering and manufacturing support
  • Component repair and sustainment
  • Manufacture of individual components through to large, complex assemblies

Century combines some of South Australia’s largest in-house fabrication and CNC machining capability with WAAM, blast/paint and assembly services. Bringing these processes together within one organisation reduces supply-chain interfaces and provides customers with greater control over quality, schedule and manufacturing risk.

Our WAAM capability expands Century’s traditional fabrication and subtractive manufacturing offering by enabling near-net-shape production of metallic components using robotic additive manufacturing technology.

For Defence customers, WAAM provides opportunities across new manufacture, component replacement, obsolescence management, repair and through-life sustainment. The technology is particularly suited to larger-format components where conventional manufacturing may involve long lead times, significant material removal or reliance on constrained domestic or international supply chains.

Century fabricates, machines, additively manufactures, coats, and assembles components ranging from individual parts through to complete assemblies in accordance with customer designs, specifications and stipulated standards.

Century is well versed in high-compliance manufacturing across Defence and other critical industry sectors and has the systems, personnel, facilities, and manufacturing capability required to manage complex multi-process projects.
