Company Overview

Established in 1971, TAFE SA is South Australia’s largest vocational education and training (VET) Provider, with a state-wide footprint across Metropolitan and Regional South Australia. TAFE SA offers an extensive range of courses for traditional trades, advanced manufacturing and in electronics and engineering. TAFE SA has new qualifications in engineering – technical, cyber security and applied technologies; to align with the emerging skills needs of the Defence, Aerospace and Space Industries, and Naval shipbuilding.

Facilities at TAFE SA include:
• Establishment of the Advanced Welder Training Centre at Regency Campus.
• $38 million Mining, Engineering and Automotive Centre including 5S workshop; Light and Heavy Fabrication workshops and Restricted Position Welding Training Rig; Hydraulics and Pneumatics Workshop, Advanced manufacturing, CNC machines, 3D printing; CAD and robotics labs.
• Award winning Tonsley Campus and Electrotechnology programs.

Products and Services

TAFE SA has partnered with ASC, BAE, DEC and Department of Innovation and Skills in the delivery of Defence-sponsored Defence Industries Pathways Program for high performing school students. Vocational Programs are provided in Schools including St Patrick’s P-TECH and Western Technical College.

Apprenticeship and Traineeship Programs deliver courses from Certificate II to Associate Degree level in welding and fabrication; mechanical engineering, CNC Machining; hydraulics and pneumatics; CAD design; electrical; electronics, electrotechnology; instrumentation and control; and HVAC&R; with further study pathway opportunities to university.

Certificate and Degree courses are also offered in Project Management; Information Technology – Networking and Software Development, Applied Technologies and Cyber Security.
TAFE SA undertakes Training Need Analysis and Workforce Planning with tailored training programs delivered to meet the needs in industry.
