BMT and Nautic Star team up for shipbuilding agreement

Adelaide custom boat builder Nautic Star and the world’s leading independent naval architecture and maritime design company, BMT, have announced a teaming agreement to offer the M80 Interceptor Next Generation Sea Boat to the Australian Government.

The agreement was announced today at the Pacific International Maritime Exhibition in Sydney.

The M80 Interceptor Sea Boat has been fine-tuned over many years to optimise the balance between soft riding, rough water performance in any direction and equally impressive calm water performance.

“BMT is excited to team up with a great South Australian company in Nautic Star to offer the M80 Interceptor vessel,” BMT Defence and Security Managing Director, Peter Behrendt said.

“Nautic Star has already supplied sea boats to the Australian Border Force, proving that local firms can offer world leading capability for Australia’s defence and national security requirements,” Mr Behrendt said.

“In addition to Australia, the M80 Interceptor Sea Boat is ready for international export, including to our key defence allies,” he said.

“BMT is fully committed to developing Australia’s defence and national security capability and export capacity,” Mr Behrendt said.

The M80 Interceptor is a 7.3m vessel suitable for a number of maritime requirements including the Royal Australian Navy Armidale Class Patrol Boats.
