In a major win for our local defence industry, DTC, part of leading South Australian technology company Codan, will supply its cutting-edge radio technology to Polish unmanned systems manufacturer FlyFocus.
DTC’s radio solutions provide secure, reliable connection that allows the unmanned systems to communicate and share data with their operators.
Drones and unmanned systems are playing an increasing role in current conflicts. DTC’s solutions are designed to maintain connectivity in complex and interference heavy operating environments, reducing the chances of the signal between the operator and units being jammed.
Minister for Defence and Space Industries Chris Picton met with both Codan and FlyFocus at one of Europe’s largest military defence exhibitions in Poland and congratulated on them on the deal that will boost South Australia’s exports.
Designed and manufactured from Codan’s Mawson Lakes Headquarters, as well as its other global manufacturing sites, DTC’s technology is exported to more than 165 countries globally.
Codan employs more than 300 people in South Australia, and 1,100 globally with a strong focus on research and development.
South Australia’s growing contribution to allied defence capability and the global drone market has helped DTC’s revenue from unmanned systems double to more than $215 million in the past financial year.
