SAGE Group boosts advanced manufacturing in South Australia
4 November 2025
SAGE Group has officially launched a new Advanced Manufacturing Centre at Tonsley Innovation District in South Australia, boosting the company’s production of mission-critical systems for the Australian Defence Force and AUKUS-aligned programs.
The facility includes 1,750m² of manufacturing space, along with engineering and support offices, accommodating up to 100 highly skilled employees.
It will double SAGE’s production output and support its trajectory toward a $500 million turnover, enabling scalable manufacturing and enhanced capability uplift for defence programs.
SAGE Group Managing Director Adrian Fahey said the expansion will accelerate production to meet growing domestic and international demand, including for future AUKUS requirements.
“This new facility allows us to increase our capacity to vertically integrate design and manufacturing, giving us speed to market and control over quality and supply chain, key factors in remaining globally competitive. With this level of automation and expertise, we can compete anywhere in the world,” Mr Fahey said.
The Tonsley facility will produce a range of critical components for defence primes and allied customers, including advanced combat system consoles, control panels, SCADA and digital systems, modular switchboards and infrastructure solutions.
SAGE Group, a Tetra Tech company, has a strong track record of delivering build-to-print and design-to-spec solutions for defence primes and major infrastructure partners.
Underpinned by deep expertise in digital transformation, cybersecurity, Industry 4.0 and through-life support, SAGE will continue to play a central role in supporting national security objectives and advancing the capability of Australia’s defence industry.
