Adelaide-based REDARC Defence & Space will unveil its new Australian-made military inverter at Land Forces 2026.

Designed, engineered and manufactured in Australia, the rugged inverter is built to provide reliable power for defence vehicles, mission systems and deployable operations, even in challenging environments.

The new capability has been developed to support Defence’s need for resilient, sovereign technology that can operate in harsh conditions where dust, moisture, vibration, shock and extreme temperature can impact mission-critical equipment performance.

Executive General Manager of REDARC Defence & Space Scott Begbie said local development of advanced technologies is a priority for the South Australian business, which has been operating for more than 45 years.

“As Defence prioritises sovereign capability and supply chain resilience, Australian industry must be able to develop and manufacture advanced technologies locally,” Mr Begbie said.

“This newly developed technology reflects our ongoing investment in ruggedised power solutions for modern platforms, while strengthening Australia’s industrial base.”

Defence Engineering Manager of REDARC Defence & Space Dr David Murfett said the inverter had been designed to meet the demands of modern defence operations.

“By combining advanced power electronics with a rugged mechanical design, we have developed a solution suited to the operational needs of defence operators and platform integrators,” he said.

REDARC Defence & Space will showcase the new technology at Land Forces 2026, Australia’s leading international land defence exposition.

More than 60 South Australian defence-related companies will attend the event in Perth from 6-8 October, highlighting the state’s strengths in advanced manufacturing, defence innovation and sovereign industrial capability to support the Australian Army and broader Joint Force.
