Adelaide-headquartered Nova Systems will continue providing qualification services for Australian Defence Force flight simulators based at RAAF Base Edinburgh, supporting training for crews operating the P-8A Poseidon and the MC-55A aircraft.

The Defence Aviation Safety Authority (DASA) re-approved Nova Systems’ ongoing status as an Approved Qualification Organisation, enabling the company to continue testing, assessing and certifying advanced flight simulators that support Defence aviation training and operational readiness.

The defence technology company has also been approved to provide training courses to Defence personnel on acceptable methods for evaluating flight simulators for use in formal training programs.

Nova Systems CEO Dean Rosenfield said the approvals reflect the company’s long-standing role in supporting safe, compliant and effective Defence aviation training capabilities.

“These approvals by DASA reinforce Nova Systems’ position as a trusted partner to Defence in delivering high assurance certification services for complex aviation systems,” Mr Rosenfield said.

“Our team remains focused on ensuring Australia’s advanced simulation capabilities continue to meet the highest standards of safety, compliance and operational effectiveness, supporting the ADF’s mission now and into the future.”

Mr Rosenfield said Nova Systems continues to provide Defence confidence in their independent assurance of aviation safety standards to enable aircrew to realistically and safely practice high risk scenarios and train in simulated environments.

Nova Systems’ qualification services will continue through to 2029, supporting assurance activities across key Defence aviation platforms including the P-8A and MC-55A at RAAF Base Edinburgh, the KC-30A Multi-Role Tanker Transport at RAAF Base Amberley, Queensland and the PC-21 pilot training aircraft, which operates from various interstate RAAF bases.

The approval reinforces South Australia’s role in Defence aviation assurance and simulation capability, with Nova Systems continuing to provide specialist qualification services that support Australian Defence Force aircrew training and operational readiness.
