The South Australian-based School of Information Operations (SOIO) is set to expand its defence training services in Europe, following the signing of a Letter of Intent (LOI) between Poland-based radar and electronic warfare provider XY-Sensing and Swedish defence consultancy Westberi AB.
The new international partnership will enhance defence capability across Europe and Australia, with the three organisations intending to collaborate on defence technology, sensor systems and military training solutions.
The LOI outlines a shared commitment to joint research and development, co-marketing, technology integration and product distribution, with a primary focus on Europe and Australia, and potential expansion into the broader Asia-Pacific region.
The partnership will focus on:
- Integration and interoperability – combining each organisation’s strengths to deliver interoperable solutions for defence industry professionals.
- Market expansion – leveraging regional expertise to grow presence across strategic global markets and new customer segments.
- Enhanced collaboration – promoting the exchange of knowledge sharing best practices between European and Australian defence sectors.
SOIO Chief Executive Officer Glenn Murray said the agreement represents a major step in expanding the reach of world-class defence education.
“Our partnership with Westberi AB and XY-Sensing represents a significant step forward in our mission to provide cutting-edge defence services globally”, Mr Murray said. “We look forward to working closely with European military institutions to deliver education solutions that meet their unique needs.”
XY-Sensing CEO Piotr Samczynski explained that the agreement will contribute to enhanced defence readiness across Europe and promote regional security.
“We are thrilled to sign this LOI with SOIO – School of Information Operations and Westberi AB, to bring their world-class products to Europe. This collaboration will significantly enhance the capabilities of European defence forces and contribute to greater security and stability in the region”, Mr Samczynski said.
The organisations are now entering a phase of strategic planning aiming to establish a formal and comprehensive agreement in the coming months.
