REDARC Defence & Space has successfully handed over their groundbreaking Electronic Warfare Tactical Engagement Vehicle (EWTE), developed in partnership with Raytheon Australia.
Officially unveiled at the Avalon Airshow in March, the nation-first mobile capability has been designed to test and refine Electronic Warfare (EW) technologies on the go, assisting local defence companies, research organisations and universities.
REDARC Defence & Space utilised their comprehensive end-to-end capabilities to create and install the critical vehicle power solution. It has now been delivered to Raytheon’s Mawson Lakes facility where the EW components will be fitted.
Executive General Manager of REDARC Defence & Space, Scott Begbie, shared that the handover is a proud moment for the company.
“Building on our initial work in creating and installing the critical vehicle power sub-system, this project allowed us to showcase our full spectrum of capabilities,” said Mr Begbie.
“We designed, developed, integrated and tested the power solution, ensuring its readiness for the demanding operational environment.
“Furthermore, we provided comprehensive training to the users, empowering them to fully leverage this advanced solution.”
Raytheon Australia’s General Manager Joint Battlespace Systems, Amanda Selway, said Raytheon are delighted to have worked with REDARC on this project.
“Their power solution enables the electronic warfare components that make the EWTE an Australian first mobile laboratory for R&D, prototyping, red force training and as a test asset,” said Ms Selway.
The collaboration between Raytheon and REDARC Defence & Space underscores the strategic value of Australian industry partnerships in strengthening the nation’s defence capabilities. The EWTE stands as a leading example of South Australian homegrown innovation supporting key defence priorities in critical areas like electronic warfare, aligned with the objectives of AUKUS Pillar II.
