Leading South Australian precision component manufacturer, Levett Engineering, will manufacture and supply stacking frames to support the Royal Australian Navy’s (RAN) strike missile (NSM) capability, under a new contract with Kongsberg Defence Australia.

The stacking frames, to be built at the company’s manufacturing facility in Adelaide’s north, will be used to transport NSM launcher missile modules, which are being delivered under Project SEA 1300 Phase 1.

Konsberg continues to expand its local supply chain as it supports the NSM acquisition and development program that will deliver advanced guided weapons to Australia’s Navy, boosting its capability advantage in a changing threat environment.

Levett Engineering General Manager Dave Lander said the contract strengthens the company’s reputation as a world-leading component manufacturer, with a growing Australian and international customer base across the Defence and aerospace industries.

“We are delighted to be working directly with Kongsberg Defence Australia to manufacture and supply stacking frames to transport the NSM Launcher Missile Modules,” Lander said.

“Levett is renowned for its exacting operational benchmarks and commitment to product quality and on-time delivery.”

The recent contract builds on component work Levett Engineering has previously undertaken with precision engineering firm, Marand, developing launch ramp systems, launcher frames and rails for Kongsberg Defence Australia.

Kongsberg Defence Australia Managing Director John Fry said the company is pleased to welcome Levett Engineering to its Australian supply chain for NSM capability for the RAN.

As a member of the Australian Sovereign Defence and Advanced Manufacturing Group, Levett Engineering is a key supplier to primes including Lockheed Martin, BAE Systems, L3 Harris, ASC, Babcock, Rheinmetall and Marand.
