Trellis Data joins forces with Vantiq
2 December 2024
Adelaide-based Trellis Data and US-headquartered global platform provider Vantiq have announced a strategic partnership that will bring cutting-edge generative AI capabilities to the AUKUS partnership.
The collaboration will focus on improving situational awareness and decision-making in defence operations, through the integration of advanced AI technologies and real-time data processing and analysis.
A leading provider of sovereign AI solutions for the defence and national security sectors, Trellis Data provides advanced speech-to-text capabilities, computer vision and knowledge mastery, which can be used to analyse and interpret large volumes of data from various sources.
Integrating Trellis Data’s solutions with Vantiq’s leading platform for building and operating intelligent systems, will deliver precise insights from diverse sensor networks enabling faster, smarter decision-making and the ability to respond with unmatched speed and efficiency.
Chief Client Officer of Trellis Data Dr Cliff Seery said the company was excited to partner with Vantiq to combine their ground-breaking capabilities.
“By bringing these two best-in-class technologies together, we are creating a powerful foundation to empower smart cities, communities, defence and national sovereignty with faster and more resilient solutions,” Dr Seery said.
Co-founder and CEO of Vantiq Marty Sprinzen said the partnership addresses the urgent need for faster, smarter decision-making in high-stakes environments.
“As threats grow more complex and data volumes surge, this collaboration delivers a scalable, intelligent approach to safeguarding critical infrastructure and empowering strategic decision-making when it matters most,” he said.
The announcement comes off the back of the release of Trellis Data’s recent ground-breaking innovation in large language model (LLM) decoders. Trellis’s Dynamic Depth Decoding (D3) technique uses speculative decoding to achieve an average speed increase of 44% compared with the previous fastest decoder. With estimates the computational power required to sustain global growth in AI is doubling every 100 days, D3 is now the fastest decoder available in the world.
Trellis Data CEO Michael Gately said the speed of the decoder would also offer customers a reduction in the cost of running AI servers and a lower carbon footprint.
“Trellis Data is at the forefront of the rapidly developing AI field and we’re excited to make D3 available on our platform,” he said. “D3 will provide customers using our speech management and knowledge management capabilities immediate benefits including an enhanced user experience and greater ability to scale.”
