Aerospace and information warfare forum program released

Opportunities for local industry to support Australian Defence Force (ADF) projects and capability development will be in the spotlight at the SA Aerospace and Information Warfare Forum next month.

The SA Aerospace and Information Warfare Forum (SAAIWF) will be held on 22 June at the Adelaide Convention Centre, bringing together South Australian industry, academia and government to focus on developments in the state’s aerospace and information warfare sector.

A preliminary program has now been released, with a focus on educating the aerospace and information warfare sectors on projects that are delivering significant capability upgrades to the ADF. A list of speakers across ADF Air Force Capability, the Directorate Information Warfare Group as well as the Office of Defence Industry Support will be confirmed in the coming weeks.

Defence SA Chief Executive Richard Price said the forum was an important opportunity to showcase local industry capabilities and connect hundreds of local defence industry SMEs to supply chain opportunities.

“South Australia is home to the nation’s most advanced intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, and electronic warfare capabilities and is fast establishing as the ADF’s operational hub for information warfare,’ Mr Price said.

“With world-class infrastructure and industry expertise, state-of-the-art defence precincts, innovative research and a highly-skilled workforce, South Australia is well-placed to respond to the ADF’s increasing demand for operational level information warfare capabilities.

“This one-time event will showcase the depth of our industry capability, connect industry with research and supply chain opportunities and propel our momentum forward as the centre for defence innovation and skills.”

The forum will also include an industry exhibition of more than 50 defence primes and SMEs showcasing local industry capabilities, as well as youth and engineering associations, government and academia.

Exhibitor opportunities are open until 6 June 2022. If your organisation is interested, complete the Expression of Interest Form, and a member of the Defence SA team will be in contact with more information.
